Description

A fresh look at the Energy Star Homes and NAHB/ANSI Green Homes Certifications utilizing Optimum Value Engineering Join us for an evening of education, fun and NETWORKING! Learn about innovative green building value engineering and follow-up with a fun evening enjoying the amenities of Belgravia’s 565 Quincy “Q” Room which includes billiards, bowling, indoor putting green, and more. Food and drink included. This unique home builder educational program will focus on how to use value engineering to cut costs and increase profits on new residential construction under both the Energy Star program and National Green Building Standard (NGBS) label. The 2006 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) can make “going green” a possible profit center for the builder and/or developer if you know how to take advantage of new technology and building techniques. Optimum Value Engineering (OVE) offers an untapped resource for reducing builders ’ hard costs while increasing material efficiency, possibly making ENERGY STAR & NGBS labeling a profitable opportunity, instead of a costly mandate. Please join us for this informative and profitable home builder education program: Tues., August 25, 2009 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Green Education Program 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Networking (pizza, beer, bowling, putting green, billiards, etc.) Speakers: Sam Rashkin, Director of EPA Energy Star Homes Program: Will bring the latest information on the programs achievements, the labels impact on the environment, and the increasing penetration of residential market. Michelle Desiderio, Director of the NAHB Green Program: Will address builder questions about the fast-growing national acceptance of the new NAHB/ANSI National Green Building Standard (NGBS) and its impact on the residential marketplace. Jerry Thatcher, President of Energy Diagnostics, Inc.: Will provide green builder success stories in the Midwest and overview basic construction cost variables incorporating NGBS and Energy Star certifications.
